Despite both Barcelona and Pedro being almost sure that they will part ways this summer, Barca will not consider selling Pedro unless his £21.2m release clause is paid in full. According to certain newspapaers Manchester City have also joined the race to sign Pedro, but he remains favourite to head to Manchester United.

Pedro has admitted that he does not know if this future lies with Barcelona or with another club. Barcelona’s technical secretary Fernandez had said that Pedro has asked him that he wants to move on. Speaking after yesterday’s match Pedro has said that he does not want to leave because of money but to get more playing time.

It’s not for money, as has been said – which is another lack of respect. It’s a question of continuity, of minutes. I’m an ambitious player. I’m calm, happy and I will always continue giving everything if I continue at this club.

Manchester? Yes, there are nice challenges on all sides.

Pedro has scored what was probably be his last goal for Barcelona, giving them the Super Cup win in the 115th minute after extra time. After the game Pedro was congratulated by all the players but seemed quite reluctant to join his team mates in the trophy celebration. Reports in Spain suggested that Pedro, who started the game on the bench, wants to leave the club to join Manchester United in the coming days.

Barcelona manager Enriques expects the saga about Pedro to end soon with Barcelona admitting that they will have to let Pedro go if Manchester United meet the £21.2m buy-out clause. Louis van Gaal has repeatedly stated that he is looking for a replacement for Di Maria, and Pedro is the one who is being mentioned most following the arrivals of Neymar and Luis Suarez at Barcelona.
