LVG: “If we wanted Pedro, we would have signed him easily”

In his pre-match conference Louis van Gaal has stated that the media were wrong in assuming that Manchester United wanted to sign Pedro, who has now completed his move to Chelsea. He also said that if he wanted to sign Pedro it would have been easy because of his buy-out clause.

I think when we wanted Pedro it was not any problem because there was a clause in his contract so it was an easy contract.

When you ask me ‘is Pedro fitting in the profile?’ I cannot lie and I say yes but I did not say we are interested in the player, that’s the difference.
